Solo Artists

Solo Artists (36 weeks) provides technical skills, musical knowledge and performing experience that prepares students for a wide range of professional and creative opportunities as performing musicians. This course is designed for students who wish to develop contemporary music performance skills.

COURSE OVERVIEW

Solo Artists (36 weeks) provides technical skills, musical knowledge and performing experience that prepares students for a wide range of professional and creative opportunities as performing musicians. Students will learn the fundaments of healthy singing, development of vocal range and dynamic power, training in articulation, enunciation and stage presence, sight-reading, includes music theory, ear training, music history, and understanding of different styles. Courses covering breath control and the physiology of the voice. Students will receive group instruction and individual feedback throughout the duration of the course. Singers will perform every week of the course. Repertoire draws from simple contemporary pieces and melodies accompanied with chords. Mastery of the material will be demonstrated through written assignments. Every weekly class attendance and daily practice (2 hours) are expected. This course is designed for students who wish to develop contemporary music performance skills. Regardless of your ability level, you'll get plenty out of the programme, although we do recommend you have a minimum of six months’ playing experience to fully benefit.


There will be a maximum of 9 participants per class.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for aspiring musicians with little to no experience in music performance. It is highly recommended for students who want to apply for further study in music.

Cost

£1,350 (includes student materials pack and course tuition). Your fee also includes an ID card to access the building, as well as access to our fantastic library facilities for the duration of this course.
